Code Yellow For Referees!
NJ Referee Debuts As MLS Referee AssistantJorge de la Bandera of Monmouth Junction NJ made his debut as an MLS referee assistant in the Metrostars' game against Miami at Giants Stadium last night. By all accounts he did a good job. He stayed awake, didn't drop his flag and when he waived it he looked like he knew what he was doing.
Bandera joins a growing body of NJ affiliated MLS assistant referees: Alex Shuster, Matt Lawlor, Ricardo Resendes and FIFA assistant referee Gregg Barkey. Alex Prus is NJ's only full MLS referee.
